The Scania R500 tractor has a V8 engine, making it one of the most fuel-efficient in its class. The 500 stands for the number of horsepower.

In the Next-Gen line, the R-series is available in five different variants. Again, these cabs are positioned slightly higher on the chassis, creating enough space for the powerful V8 engine.   

• R-Day cab, low: This is the smallest variant of the 5. The low roof of the tractor allows loads to be transported above the cab. There is a rest and sleeping area. 
• R-Day cab, normal: the difference with the low day cab is that the normal one is slightly higher, allowing more space for the driver. 
• R-Sleeper cab, low: this cab is the same height as the low day cab, the only difference is that the cab is a little deeper allowing more sleeping space.   
• R Sleeping Cabin, normal: a compact sleeping cabin for shorter trips. The cab is as high as the normal day cab, only is deeper and equipped with 2 beds. 
• R Sleeper cab, highline: this is the most luxurious version of the 5 cab variants and offers the most space for the driver. It is therefore an ideal truck for long trips far from home. The cab is equipped with 2 beds.
