Concrete Pump Trucks

Concrete pump trucks are not the same as the well-known concrete mixer trucks. There are combination vehicles that have both a concrete pump and a concrete mixer. These enable you to pour the concrete directly at the destination. That saves a lot of time and space on the construction site.
Important features of concrete pump trucks
The first thing you notice about a concrete pump truck is the long hydraulic arm with which concrete can be poured up to 100 metres high in the largest models. Modern concrete pumps are equipped with a double piston which is driven by an electric or diesel engine. These pistons work against each other to generate as much power as possible.
Combination concrete pump/concrete mixer trucks
A combination vehicle makes it possible to load mortar at one location, mix it during transport in the large cylindrical drum on the chassis, and then pour the contents at the construction site. With such a vehicle you no longer need separate concrete mixers, which makes them ideal for construction sites with limited space.
Applications concrete pump trucks
A concrete pump is obviously used for projects where a lot of concrete is needed. A self propelled concrete pump is used for the construction of structures which are otherwise difficult to reach. Think about the construction of bridges, dams and stadiums.
