DAF

History

In 1928 DAF was founded in Eindhoven by Hub van Doorne. At that time the letters D.A.F. stood for: Van Doorne's Trailer Factory. Until about 1948 DAF was mainly engaged in the production of trailers and semi-trailers. In 1948 the first trucks came out of this factory and changed the name to Van Doorne's Automobiel Fabriek. DAF has been supplying its trucks with its own diesel engines since 1957, before that the engines came from parties such as Perkins and Hercules.

In the nineties DAF became part of PACCAR. In addition to DAF, PACCAR also manages the American truck brands Kenworth and Peterbilt.

Assortment

Among the European drivers, DAF is especially praised for its extremely spacious and ergonomically designed cabin on type XF. Since its introduction in 1988, DAF's Super Space Cab cabin has been an integral part of international European transport.

DAF has 3 series of trucks: the LF, CF and XF. Each series can be used for a different purpose.

The LF is the smallest and has the shortest turning circle of all trucks on the market. That is why the LF is suitable for transport in cities and for transport of goods over medium distances.

The CF can be used for regional, national and international (distribution) transport. In addition, it can be used on rough terrain.

As mentioned earlier, the XF has the largest cabin, which means it is mainly used for long distances and heavy transport.

Per series you have a choice of different types of trucks such as: closed box trucks, container trucks, garbage trucks, chassis cabin trucks or tipper trucks.
